Method of Teaching

Principles of JVLearning teaching methods

These principles include both Student Centered Learning and Indian methods of teaching:

  • Starting Early
  • Building on previous knowledge
  • Practicing
  • Parent Involvement as Educators
  • The learner has full responsibility
  • Involvement and participation
  • The learner experiences confluence in education
  • By following these steps, children in grades K-12 will learn mathematics in a challenging and proven methodology. We are combining some of the principles that have been used successfully in teaching Indian mathematics and the student centered learning methodologies to create an unique teaching method. In this approach the students influence the content, activities, materials, and pace of learning. This learning model places the student (learner) in the center of the learning process.
Using our online system, children are assessed frequently, their weaknesses diagnosed and practice problems assigned. we believe that when you involve parents in their child's education, you will see the student excel, that is why we have a Parent portal for up-to-date progress reports. Each student is assigned an academic specialist to ensure the curriculum design, classroom interactions, and the learning outcomes are being achieved.

Our process ensures that children become proficient in Mathematics: The only true universal language !

Student Centered Learning - An Overview

Learning is often presented in this dualism of either student-centered learning or teacher-centered learning. In the reality of practice the situation is less black and white. A more useful presentation of student-centered learning is to see these terms as either end of a continuum, using the three concepts regularly used to describe student-centered learning.

    Teacher-Centred Learning Student-Centred Learning
Low level of student choice High level of student choice
    Student passive Student active
Power is Primarily with teacher Power is Primarily with student

The changing demographics of the student population and the more consumer/client-centered culture in today’s society have provided a climate where the use of student-centered learning is thriving.

The recent technological advances like content management system (CMS) has enhanced the student centered learning experience. With a CMA, all the “tools” of the classroom, like document archives to assignments, class notes to class reviews are all integrated through a single platform. The platform integrates communications tools like whiteboard, video and audio chat, productivity tools like progress review, calendar and orientation and student involvement tools like self-assessment and community building.
